I spent Saturday morning at the first “Meet Me in the Middle: Multiplex & Matcha with Maria Kritikos”, an event that brought together a curated group of professionals, including architects, designers, developers, builders, mortgage specialists, and others across the housing industry.
I liked the format. Instead of walking around the room trying to find a way into a conversation, everyone started with a question from a card prepared by Maria. A simple idea, but it worked surprisingly well.
I also had the opportunity to ask builders about light-gauge steel framing as an alternative to conventional wood framing for residential projects, particularly how it compares in terms of construction cost and project timelines. Only one had built with it before. The others were familiar with its advantages but were more comfortable with conventional wood framing – a system they know well through years of experience.
Thank you, Maria Kritikos , for putting together such a well-thought-out event. Looking forward to the next one.
